The
early history of illustrator and artist Lee Cosgrove is unknown, but
in 1992 he became the focus of much media furore when an expeditionary
force traversing the heart of the Congo disovered him living with (and
apparently raised by) a band of gorillas. Though his social skills were
more primate than human he displayed a particular knack for drawing
and painting and was transported to the UK.
Lee
spent the next 10 years touring the country displaying his skills of
artistry and tree climbing under the moniker of the 'Amazing Ape-Boy'
or the 'Gorillustrator'.
Since
recently retiring from the sideshow scene he has settled in the North-West
of England with his partner Katie and works as a freelance illustrator,
working mainly digitally he produces colourful and imaginative images.
He spends his spare time watching King Kong movies and relaxing on his
tire-swing.
